Staff Writer Intern

This is a six month, paid internship with potential to go full time at the end of the internship if there's a fit. The Staff Writer Intern will be working with Pixable's Associate Editors and Junior Staff Writer to write multiple posts per day on a variety of topics and to support the Associate Editor and Junior Staff Writer in content creation.


In this position the intern will get first hand experience in working in a digital media publishing environment with a supportive team of extremely creative talent, lead by the Director Of Editorial who has experience at CNN, Huffington Post and Business Insider.


Responsibilities:


  • Support editorial staff as needed, when needed. This includes conducting research, finding photography and image sourcing, posting to social, and generally being helpful and awesome when called upon for a task
  • Write multiple stories daily both pitched and assigned
  • Pitch feature story ideas in pitch meetings, complete feature assignments
  • Work from home from 7am - 9:30am, in office from 10:30am - 4pm Monday - Friday
  • Weekend work as needed
  • WFH in evening as needed (cover stories we absolutely have to publish and live tweeting events

Qualifications:

Senior Social Media Editor

Video Producer/Editor

The video producer/editor will lead Pixable's efforts in creating original video content for both editorial and branded campaigns. He/she will work in collaboration with the editorial team to identify opportunities for video with pitches, will pitch original ideas and concepts for video production that will cover a wide range of topics from documentary style series, to travel, to interviews, mashups and more.


This is a role with a high degree of creative freedom. The video producer will also be tasked with getting necessary video production equipment need to start an in-house production unit.


Responsibilities:


  • Work within an internal budget to "gear up" with needed video production equipment to get production off the ground with potential to grow.
  • Produce, shoot, edit and contract out original video content for Pixable.com. Must have an eye for stunning visuals, the ability to capture the humorous side of life and execute on a variety of different concepts.
  • Work with editors on developing ideas that can be executed on in a timely fashion.
